Nick is a director and choreographer who specializes in bringing musical productions to life. His fresh take on the stories he guides has garnered regional recognition and acclaim across the Northeast.
As a director and choreographer, Nick leads actors and dancers through organic discovery in the rehearsal room, allowing performers to make choices that align with the overall storytelling of the piece. Instead of demanding specific movements or line readings, he fosters a community within each cast where moment-to-moment choices can grow and respond to the needs of the ensemble. This process encourages questions, conversations, and shared understanding of the point of view of all performers, ensuring that every artist in the room knows their place in the storytelling and feels empowered to contribute.
As a collaborator, Nick believes in building an environment where every individual has an amplified voice. He works from a text-first approach, treating the script as the guide for all decisions regarding staging, design, and character. Bringing the work of playwrights, composers, and lyricists to life in new and imaginative ways is one of his greatest passions. He handles their material with care, curiosity, and deep respect, and he encourages his creative teams to do the same. For Nick, it is an honor to bring someone else’s work to the stage.
During his four years at Westinghouse Arts Academy, Nick’s artistic leadership guided the program to extraordinary achievement at the Gene Kelly Awards for Excellence in High School Musical Theatre. Across his tenure, his productions earned a total of twenty Gene Kelly Awards, including four consecutive Best Musical titles from 2022 through 2025 in their respective categories.
Nick’s creative work extends beyond the rehearsal room. As the Education and Engagement Manager for Westmoreland Cultural Trust and a leader within The Academy at WCT, he curates innovative community programs and immersive artistic experiences that strengthen the region’s cultural landscape. Through initiatives such as Broadway to the Palace, Petrifying Palace, community partnerships, youth arts outreach, and audience engagement events, Nick continues to expand his creative impact. His work in community engagement reflects the same values he brings to directing: collaboration, storytelling, access, and meaningful connection through the arts.
