Petrifying Palace 2025, presented by The Academy at Westmoreland Cultural Trust, is a family friendly Halloween experience that transforms the historic Palace Theatre into an immersive world of spooky characters, theatrical scenes, and kid friendly thrills. Guests travel through the theatre on a guided tour filled with themed vignettes and interactive storytelling brought to life by our performers and production team.
Community collaboration is at the heart of the event. Local Greensburg organizations partnered with us to host a vibrant trunk or treat outside the Palace, creating a welcoming seasonal celebration for families. Inside the theatre, Seton Hill University students supported the production through management, operations, and hands-on creative roles that helped shape the flow and quality of the guest experience. Students from Douglas Education Center also joined the event to design SFX makeup for our actors and offer face painting to the many families who attended.
The event is crafted as a theatrical adventure rather than a jump-scare attraction, making it accessible and enjoyable for all ages. Performers bring each space to life with character-driven storytelling, scripted moments, and interactive scenes that encourage guests to immerse themselves in the fun.
Petrifying Palace continues to grow each year as a beloved fall tradition for Westmoreland County, showcasing community partnership, student creativity, and The Academy’s commitment to accessible, imaginative arts experiences.
