Greensburg ArtsWalk 2026 was a dynamic, community-wide celebration of arts and culture in downtown Greensburg, welcoming over 600 patrons for a free, immersive experience spanning the city’s historic downtown corridor. The event featured live performances, visual art exhibitions, interactive experiences, and a curated Artisan Market, all designed to increase accessibility to the arts In our town while driving engagement with local businesses and cultural institutions.
Serving as Creative Director, I led the visioning, planning, and execution of this large-scale, multi-organizational collaboration in partnership with Westmoreland Cultural Trust, The Westmoreland Museum of American Art, and Seton Hill University, alongside a network of local artists, businesses, and community stakeholders. I facilitated and led planning meetings coordinating over 25 partners, managing the integration of their individual locations, programming, and operational needs into one cohesive, citywide event experience.
As reflected in the official event map, Greensburg ArtsWalk activated over 30 participating locations across downtown Greensburg, including galleries, performance venues, retail businesses, restaurants, and community spaces, creating a highly walkable and interconnected arts district for the day . This level of participation significantly increased foot traffic throughout the city and encouraged patrons to engage with a wide range of local businesses they may not have otherwise visited.
A key initiative in 2026 was the implementation of a free shuttle system, designed to further connect all participating locations and remove barriers to phisical access to the experience. This addition expanded the geographic reach of the event, allowing patrons to more easily explore the full footprint of ArtsWalk and engage more deeply with programming across multiple sites.
With participation from dozens of businesses and organizations, Greensburg ArtsWalk continues to serve as a meaningful driver of economic activity in historic downtown Greensburg. By increasing cross-venue movement, supporting local vendors and artists, and creating intentional opportunities for community engagement, the event reinforces the role of the arts as a catalyst for economic vitality and downtown activation.
Greensburg ArtsWalk 2026 stands as a strong model for collaborative, cross-sector arts programming that prioritizes accessibility, community impact, and creative placemaking.
