Having a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah Conservatory, home of the CCM Vocal Pedagogy Institute, Nick's training was steeped in a pedagogical understanding of vocal structures and processes of various vocal styles. This training provides him with the tools to approach vocal technique from a holistic, somatic, and anatomical perspective that allows for quick results and maximum retention in his students. Additionally, Nick is a seasoned professional musical theatre performer of over 20 years which provides him the hands-on experience to back up his extensive training. If you're looking for a teacher who can talk the talk and also walk the walk, Nick is your guy!
Nick's emphasis on text and strong focus on a "process over product" approach is what really sets him apart. While still focusing on healthy vocal production, Nick instills in his students the importance of the text they are performing; songs and monologues alike. With training in several schools of acting including the Meisner Approach, Stanislavski Technique, and Viewpoints Nick combines the core concepts from each method and caters to the individaul strengths and areas of improvement of each student in order to assist them in achieving a truthful, refined, and consistent performance of their material.
